Today is a sad day in the world of electronic dance music.
THE Prodigy star Keith Flint has been found dead in a suspected suicide at his home, aged 49.
The iconic singer, from Essex, was discovered at around 8am this morning after police and paramedics were called to the property.
Officers remain outside the £1.5m rural home this morning but his death is not being treated as suspicious.
The Prodigy co-founder Liam Howlett said Flint had ‘taken his own life’.
Famed for his devil-horns haircut and intense stage performances – the iconic 90s musician was performing just last month in New Zealand on a world tour set to run until May. We are currently awaiting to hear what this means for the rest of the tour.
Howlett, who founded the group with Flint in their hometown of Braintree, Essex, wrote: “The news is true. I can’t believe I am saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend.
“I’m shell shocked, f****** angry, confused and heart broken r.i.p brother.”
Flint had spoken candidly about his drug use and battles with depression, claiming ‘when I’m done, I’ll kill myself’.
In an interview with FHM in 2015, he said: “I’m not saving up for anything. I’m cashing it all now.
“I’ve always had this thing inside me that, when I’m done, I’ll kill myself.
“I swear to God that’s not suicidal – it’s definitely a positive thing. The moment I start s******* the bed is when you’ll see me on the front of a bus.
“I just want to look back and know that I’ve lived what I consider a fulfilled life.”
