STANDERWICK:

The last 12 months have seen a meteoric rise for enigmatic, trance producer and DJ from the United Kingdom, Standerwick. Not just gig wise with regular club shows and festival appearances across the world as he becomes an ever more in demand name but also from a production point of view. With no less than three Beatport #1’s under his belt, half a dozen more top 5’s and numerous Top 10 hits in the form of solo productions, collaborations and remixes for artists such as ARMIN VAN BUUREN, ALY & FILA, JOHN O’CALLAGHAN, SIED VAN RIEL & more, it’s clear to see not only how much STANDERWICK’s talent is respected and in demand but also easy to see how he is becoming the next big name in trance.

Born in Bristol England, Standerwick’s early career as a Songwriter/Producer saw him signed to one of the most successful music publishing companies in the world, the famous Zomba Music Publishing Group writing and producing various forms of music such as rock, pop and indie for solo artists and bands alike. However it was in 2013 that Standerwick decided to break away from this and return to one of original loves, trance music.

In the last 2 years Standerwick has had tracks released on Armada, Future Sounds of Egypt, Blackhole, Subculture, Mental Asylum, Arisa Audio, Enhanced and numerous others, including a remix for none other than Armin van Buuren which was released on Armin’s More Intense Album and became one of the most successful remix’s of the album. As well as this remix for Armin, Standerwick was also requested by him to remix the anthem for his, “A State of Trance 700” festival tour. While remixing the 5 time number 1 DJ of the world is a massive feat he is not the only global superstar to request Standerwicks remix talent with other requests coming from artists such as Giuseppe Ottaviano, John O’Callaghan and Aly & Fila amongst others and every time the result is the same with a massive hit and in some instances, Standerwicks Remix actually selling better than the original.

A recent DJ Mag feature labeled Standerwick as part of the ‘New Wave Of Trance’ (September 2014) and credited him as being ‘a defining talent for roaring trance pitched at the distinctive pace of 138 BPM’. A regular rider at the top of the Beatport Trance Chart with solo hits and collaborations such as, “Drop”, “Valyrian”, “Folding Your Universe”, “Running”, “Skyres”, “In A Perfect World”, “Next Generation”, “Like They Used To” and “Sailing Airwaves not to mention the previously mention remixes such as Giuseppe’s “Liverpool”, John O’Callaghans track “Games”, Armin van Buuren’s “Wont Let You Go” as well as the massive “A State of Trance 700 Anthem”.

Standerwick has seen his tracks and remixes appear on an array of compilations and end of year mix releases including Armin van Buurens Top Twenty Tunes and End of Year Mix and most recently, 3 tracks were chosen to appear on the infamous Ministry Of Sound Trance Nation album 2014 mixed by Aly & Fila.

Although he has been around in the music scene for many a year in different formats, DJ’ing only started again for “Standerwick” in 2013. Even with only a handful of gigs under his belt, due to his massive musical production success 2014 saw him headlining events such as A State Of Trance 650 on Armin van Buurens world tour in Holland, Aly & Fila’s Future Sound Of Egypt 350 world tour in Bueno Aires, Argentina and Ministry of Sound in London UK. He has also toured throughout Europe with appearances in Ibiza, Holland, Poland, Montenegro and GodsKitchen and Gatecrasher in the UK.

With new tracks, collaborations and remixes pending release and tour dates currently filling the calendar, the future is looking very positive indeed.
