The history of DJ 2Rip’s career in the dance music industry is hard to sum up in just a few words. For nearly two decades his music has reached coast to coast, while his performances continue to deliver a unique sentiment. His latest shows have been billed amongst some of the largest names in the industry as he has blossomed from and underground rave DJ in the 90s to playing festivals boasting an attendance of over 10,000 people.
For the past 6 years the DMV area has had one name representing it’s psy trance scene , that name is elemental. Bringing the pure sounds of psy trance from Israel, elemental has broken the rave scene – psy scene barriers by blending all the sounds of psy, from full on to progressive, dark, goa, twilight, psylectro, and pretty much anything else that he can tie to the psychedelic vibe and with that has gotten to play with some amazing headliners including infected mushroom on multiple occasions. What really separates his sets apart from all others is the energy he brings to the stage. Brace yourself for a journey into the psychedelic sounds of Elemental.
Dave Cortex is an established DJ / producer / remixer, known throughout DC and beyond for his cutting-edge blend of house, techno and progressive. His tracks have gotten radio play across the globe, with support from industry veterans as diverse as Fedde Le Grand, Hernan Cattaneo, Tydi, and Grammy-winners Dirty Vegas. With over 80 releases to his name, Dave has delivered remixes for Lazy Rich, Swanky Tunes, Hirshee and plenty more, along with frequently licensed original EPs. Dave’s rhythm-heavy, genre-bending production style carries over into his DJ sets, with tunes from all over the house music spectrum blended into a single groove. Throughout a decade of DJing, Dave has thrown down memorable prime-time sets across the US — including at his beloved Buzz, along with proper opening sets for artists like Josh Wink, Kaskade, and BT.
Alias was born and raised in Boston. While the city lacked a proper electronic dance scene growing up, he developed a thirst for the four on the floor. While at University, he honed his skill and found solace in production and DJing. Having completed two successful remixes, one for Todd Terry and the other for Josh Wink, Alias sought to expand his reach. Alias helped grow the DC trance community when he became a key component and resident DJ for both MUTE in 2013 and Phonic in 2014. Along the way, he has had the opportunity to open for some of his favorite DJs and producers: Bryan Kearney, Estiva, Maor Levi, Kyau & Albert, Ronski Speed, Roger Shah, Sied van Riel, Paul Thomas and many more. Currently residing in Pittsburgh, Alias has yet again established a name for himself. Moving away from trance and redefining his sound as something a bit groovier, Alias started his own radio show, Factory Sounds with Dj Alias on WRCT Pittsburgh. With no end in sight, there is a lot in store for this 24 year old. As he says on his show, “get down, get dirty and get back to work.”
