The name of the album and subsequent tour is intended to get back in touch with the attitude and style of dubplate culture. Dubplate is the Jamaican term referring to acetate discs which produce their own unique audio style and were pioneered by the reggae music scene; dubplates and Jamaican reggae would become crucial in influencing the emergence and culture of drum’n’bass, jungle, UK garage and dubstep.

The duo plans to release singles off the album without any set release dates and is operating without a set release date for the album itself. The pair is creating without the pressure and constraints normally imposed on artists in the music industry and is instead choosing to let their creativity flow and allow their music production to come from an organic place.
