Christian Bauhofer, also known as Minnesota, is making a name for himself as a DJ and electronic music producer by delivering a unique and personal sound. While Minnesota’s music stays true to the fundamentals of dubstep, he emphasizes the more melodic side of the genre rather than more traditional, harsher dubstep. Rather, Minnesota creates smooth, lustrous ambient dubstep and glitch hop tracks, which demonstrate a skillful, masterful quality.

Hailing from Minneapolis, MN, Minnesota’s interest in music began at the age of 12 when he began playing guitar. While originally aiming to form a band, after attending Symbiosis in 2009, Minnesota found his passion in electronic music. Since pursuing a career as a DJ, Minnesota has put out several EPs, each receiving critical acclaim, and his second album, Ancient Machines, reaching number nine on the 2011 best seller list for Additech.com and every track appearing on the Beatport.com glitch-hop charts.

Additionally, Minnesota has performed in in over 50 cities nationwide and with major artists such as Big Gigantic, MiMOSA, and Gramtik. His music has been praised by fellow artists such as Adventure Club, Paper Diamond, and Bassnectar who has consistently used Minnesota’s track “Push It” as a staple in his sets.
